David is a graduate of the University of Sydney Law School and holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree.
For a period of 3 years following graduation, David was employed as a Legal Officer with the Commonwealth Crown Solicitor's Office Sydney dealing principally with litigation, company winding up and bankruptcy.
He was admitted as a Solicitor and Attorney of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1977 and as a Solicitor and Attorney of the High Court of Australia in 1978.
He has been practicing in North Sydney for 29 years firstly as an employed solicitor and then as the principal of his own law firm from 1980 to 1992. During this period David developed a broad base of experience in a number of areas which included conveyancing, family law, litigation, business law, wills, estates and probate.
In 1992 David merged his practice with the pre-eminent North Sydney law firm of Cowley Hearne Lawyers and was a senior partner of that firm for 14 years before joining RBHM Commercial Lawyers in July 2006.
In recent years the focus of David’s work has been mainly in the following areas:
the purchase and sale of residential, commercial and rural properties either by tender, private treaty or auction;
real estate mortgages and securities
real estate options in their various forms
leasing
wills, Probate and Letters of Administration; and
Estate Planning
David recognises the importance of maintaining a good working relationship with his clients. This involves establishing a sound understanding of their business, personal needs and the expectations they have of their legal service providers and the delivery of timely, practical and cost effective results. This approach has seen David enjoy the support of a number of high profile individuals and corporations for whom he has the privilege of representing.
David has assisted the World Bank with the real estate aspects of its recent Doing Business Project.
David’s interests include , reading, golf, photography, fishing and football. He enjoys cooking and spending quality time with his family.
